We exist to make Jesus known to our world through the power of the Gospel and therefore will not allow passivity, unbelief, religion or any other barrier to hinder us in this pursuit

We are dependent on the empowering presence of the Holy Spirit and therefore hunger for a life that is intimate with God and contends for the miraculous

We are a people who by God’s grace love, support and encourage one another and create a place where all who come can find a sense of belonging

We are convinced it is essential to intentionally demonstrate God's love for all people through intentional acts of mercy and compassion

We are a people who in response to His radical grace are not ashamed to pursue authentic lives that honour the Word of God and influence our world

We are investing ourselves and our resources to equip, develop and empower others to reach their God-given potential

Leadership & Team

Gerard and Debbie Garthe are the senior pastors of HopePointe.

Gerard & Debbie have made Caboolture their home for over thirty-five years and genuinely love this city and her people. Therefore, they are passionately committed to seeing the love and power of Jesus transform the lives of the people of Caboolture, just as their own lives have been transformed. HopePointe was established for this purpose.

HopePointe is blessed to have a great team of leaders whose passion in life is to build a place where our community can not only find hope in Jesus but can be transformed by encountering his love and power.

Church History

This church originated in 1975 when a small house church was established in a nearby town. A retired couple, Bert and Meg Westbrook, had opened their hearts and homes to a group of young people whose lives had been radically changed since they met Jesus. That small group purchased the farm land the church now stands on in 1978, and the first church building was erected in 1988 after they outgrew the house church. Those original young people were so gripped with the desire to live in a way that pleased Jesus that they couldn’t help telling everyone they met about Him. From that beginning, the small gathering has grown into a contemporary church for people of all ages and backgrounds. Today the vision of HopePointe is still to see Caboolture transformed by the love and power of Jesus.
